Enteric Bacteria and Parasites Panel

One Specimen. Minimal Hands-on. Timely Results.

Parasitic Diseases Pose A Unique Diagnostic Challenge

Parasites that cause intestinal disease are transmitted via contaminated water and food. Because symptoms of acute gastroenteritis are wide in variety, an accurate diagnostic test is vital to the successful management of patients. Giardia, Cryptosporidium and Entamoeba histolytica are the most common intestinal parasites in developed countries. In the laboratory, traditional diagnostic methods include culture and immunoassays with microscopy, both found to be less sensitive than molecular testing. In addition, multi-day turnaround makes timely clinical decisions difficult.

One Specimen. Minimal Hands-on. Timely Results.

The AusDiagnostics Enteric Bacteria and Parasite Panel detects 16 commonly isolated and highly pathogenic bacteria and parasites that cause gastrointestinal disorders from one specimen. Results are available in less time than conventional methods.
